vikanshen (vee-KAHN-shen)

a journey of parhen, vision quest, wandering for the purpose of seeking

the Ni (nee)

the sum of all creation and possibility, sometimes a sort of god

the Rheari (ray-ARE-ee)

the seen/observable part of the Ni, Shen's home "universe"

"parhen vitan" (par-EN vee-TAHN)

expression meaning roughly "trust the parhen", an encouragement to feel secure and not fear, occasionally used as a goodbye with a wish for well-faring and protection

kea (KAY-uh)

literally "path"; used in some possessive contexts to mean "the path laid out" for a person or circumstance, sort of like destiny

Tia (teeAH)

a prefix to a name used for addressing with respect or formality; not unlike "sir", but placed as if a title.

"krhe rheari" (kray ray-ARE-ee)

term loosly translating to "the breath of the world", a legendary destructive and massive wind that could tear away the very world itself; likened, if not equivalent, to the humans' "shadow storm"

vikankaren (vee-kahn-KAHR-en)

one of a variety of rituals of seeking a vision, such as a tea ceremony or meditative fasting
